Fort Worth ISD counselors will be at a district school today to support students and staff mourning the death of a student. The student died Sunday after being hospitalized. No cause of death has been announced. No additional specific information regarding the student or the school will be released in order to protect the privacy of the family.
Fort Worth ISD understands that in the current seasonal environment parents are concerned with potential infection. While Fort Worth ISD has no information regarding the cause of death, in an over abundance of caution, school custodial staff worked overnight to thoroughly clean the school — classrooms and lockers — with approved sanitizers. This step was taken strictly as a measure of assuring parents, staff, and students that the district is mindful of their safety in all situations.
