source: Brazil now has 557 swine flu deaths, making it the country with the highest number of fatalities in the world from the disease, according to figures announced by the health ministry on Wednesday.

The toll puts it ahead of the latest count from the United States, which as of August 20 had 522 swine flu deaths, according to the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.

Pinellas, FL: Pinellas County has recorded its second confirmed death from H1N1 flu. The Pinellas County Health Department announced Wednesday afternoon it was notified today that a 50-year-old female who had other underlying health conditions is the county’s second swine flu fatality.

Nebraska: The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has reported a second death in the state attributed to the H1N1 virus.

Miami-Dade, FL: The Miami-Dade County Health Department announced on Wednesday that two more people have died as a result of H1N1 Swine Flu. The latest deaths bring the total number of Miami-Dade County deaths due to swine flu to 21.
