source | The Morris County health department is notifying parents that four students at Morris Hills High School have confirmed cases of swine flu, although the school is expected to open as scheduled on Tuesday.

source | Russia’s top epidemiologist said on Friday that the country’s first case of swine flu case has been recorded in Moscow, the Interfax news agency reported. Gennady Onishchenko told Interfax that the person affected is a Russian who recently returned from the United States.

source | Two Rome high schools have been ordered closed for a week after four students caught the H1N1 flu virus on a school trip to New York, Italy’s Health Ministry said on Friday. Four boys who returned from the United States this week in a group of students and teachers from two schools in central Rome went to hospital after showing flu symptoms. They were later confirmed to have the new strain, also known as swine flu.

source | One child has contracted swine flu and 24 pupils at a Birmingham primary school are suspected of having the virus. Welford Primary School in Handsworth was forced to close today after the outbreak caused alarm. Up to 100 children at the school and nursery – more than a fifth of all pupils- were absent on Thursday due to illness.

source | Australia is considering ordering production of a swine flu vaccine from CSL Ltd. to protect the nation of 21 million people, the government said separately today. Eynesbury College in Adelaide was closed for at least a week after a 15-year-old student was confirmed to have the virus. It followed the closure of a Melbourne school yesterday after three brothers were diagnosed with the infection.

source | Another swine flu victim has been identified in Victoria, taking the state’s confirmed number of people carrying the virus to seven and the nationwide total of cases to 11. Victorian Health Minister Daniel Andrews said on Friday the latest case was a 17-year-old boy from Melbourne’s northern suburbs. “He has not travelled recently, nor had any contact with any identified cases,” Mr Andrews said.

source | One Berks County School District has seen a sudden surge in swine flu cases. Conrad Weiser in Robesonia had to shut down its West Elementary School for a week after one suspected case of the flu lead to concerns that other students might have caught it.

source | Massachusetts public health officials have confirmed 42 new cases of swine flu, bringing the total in the state to 235. Four of the new cases required hospitalization, raising the total number of people who have had to spent time in a hospital to 19.

source | All buildings in a suburban Detroit school district are closed for the rest of the week due to a confirmed case of swine flu. The Oak Park district says on its Web site the case is at Oak Park Preparatory Academy, north of Detroit. It says students should return to classes on Tuesday.

source | A MIDDLE school in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has been closed after 41 students developed high temperatures yesterday afternoon. The city government of Wulanchabu has introduced H1N1 influenza emergency measures, today’s China National Radio reported.

source | A 60-year-old man with influenza A (H1N1), also known as swine flu, and other health problems is on life support at Toronto Western Hospital. Sources say the man was admitted to hospital more than a week ago and was immediately put on a ventilator.
