Good Shepherd in Marine Park also closed after an eighth grader whose parent works in a hospital became ill, and eight classmates also fell sick, Taveras said. Bishop Kearney High School, a girls’ school in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, also closed Wednesday after a student came down with the flu and had possibly traveled to Mexico, said Harrington.
